Bridge for Beginners
Tutor: Sandra Sutton-Mattocks
Learning Contract Bridge is a great way to meet new friends and keep your mind active and alert. Bridge is easy to learn, fun and can also be challenging and competitive if you wish.
Bridge can open up a new world, especially for those who have recently retires, or have been separated or bereaved, or have moved to a new area. There are so many social outlets such as days or weekends away or even longer bridge holidays or cruises, as well as the weekly sessions at a bridge club.
There are 32 bridge clubs around Western Australia and thousands of people who play bridge. A great way to learn this fascinating pastime is at Trinity School for Seniors where the lessons are friendly, caring and take into consideration those who are hard of hearing or feel that they take a while to learn new things. Bridge is one of those games where you can play and enjoy at your own level and gradually learn new things if you wish.
The beginner lessons will take you right through from knowing nothing about bridge, to being able to play with friends, or go to a supervised session at a bridge club. After a term in the Bridge for Beginners class, you can enrol in the excellent Bridge for Improvers class with Sue Levy or if you would like to have more revision you can enrol again in the Beginners session – even though the timetable covers the same material, there will be different hands set each term for you to practise.Suitable for: Beginners
